BeCyberSafe - Your guide to internet security and privacy BeCyberSafe - Your guide to internet security and privacy

Welcome to BeCyberSafe.com

It is all so abstract. We are constantly being told of the dangers of living in the information age, and especially of internet use. But the messages are garbled and incoherent. One week it is the threat of a new virus. The next it is identity theft, credit card fraud, or the computers of innocent people being hijacked and used for criminal purposes. To name but a few examples.

Strangely enough, instead of helping, the experts often seem to add to the confusion. There is no one to provide you with the full picture, The only certainty is that whatever the problem or proposed solution, it will cost you.

A different approach

Our approach is different. We simply address the key areas we should all be concerned about, and offer easy solutions to these. Instead of getting lost in the details, we take the holistic view. Moreover, for personal use, our solutions will often be absolutely free. We want you to spend as little time, money and effort in staying out of harms way in your computer use and on the internet. So we will help you do what you need to do, step by step, with as little techspeak as possible. For the impatient ones, we have even summed it all up on the page "BeCyberSafe in an hour" , giving you both the tools and explaining how to use them.

Who needs this?

The short answer: Anyone with a computer connected to the Internet. Apparently, reading this, you are one of us!

Even if you are in a professional environment where someone makes sure that your system is virus free and that backups are taken regularly, there are still very good reasons to pay attention to security issues. Some key areas are privacy, spyware, spam, identity theft...but more on this under concerns .
